1On the watch

Settings → System → Developer options → Wireless debugging → ON. Then tap « Pair device with a code » and keep the screen open (the IP, port and 6-digit code show up there).

2On this PC: download the APK

The button below saves the Wear APK straight into your Downloads/ folder. Note its path — the install command points at it.

3Paste the command into a terminal

Prerequisite: Android Platform Tools installed (provides adb). Pick the terminal that matches your OS, copy the whole block, paste it and follow the prompts (IP, port, 6-digit code):

That's it!

The companion installs onto the watch (~10 seconds). Every future update flows through Settings → Connected watch → Install on watch inside GPSFlow — no PC ever again.

1Open Android Settings → Apps → Android Auto.

2At the bottom of the page: tap the « Version » line 10× fast → « Developer mode unlocked » toast.

3Open the Android Auto app on the phone (AA icon).

4Menu ⋮ top-right → Settings → at the bottom, a new « Developer settings » entry has appeared (thanks to step 2).

5Toggle « Unknown sources » ON.

6Plug into the car (or launch wireless AA). GPSFlow now shows up in the Android Auto app list.

On Android Auto 11.x (2024+), if « Unknown sources » doesn't show up right away, force-stop the Android Auto app and restart it after step 2.
